Earl Matthew Ho’omalu Vida of Waikapu passed away under the care of Hospice Maui with his loving family by his side on March 2, 2019.
He was a true sports enthusiast, active in various youth programs on Maui from football, soccer, baseball, softball and wrestling. Earl retired from the construction industry following a 34 year career.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa, of 44 years, 5 children, Shannon (Chris) Cortez, Kelly (Billy) Sakamoto, Earl Jr(Jen) Vida, Mahealani Vida, Mandi(Tony) Forsberg. Hanai Children, Hamana Vida, Miya Vida- Lono, Hayden Vida, Charmy Oliveira. 18 grandchildren, and 2 great-granddaughters. His parents, Royal(Karen) Vida, his mother Rosaliend Vida, predeceased, siblings, Royal “Lono” (Earlette) Vida, Eric Vida, Carol (Tim) Eleneki, and Denny Vida.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 beginning at 10am at St. Anthony Church in Wailuku. Burial will follow mass at 2pm at Maui Memorial Park with a luncheon at the St. Anthony Ball Field.
