Hatsuye Shima, 94, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2019, at Hale Makua, Kahului.
Services honoring Mrs. Shima will be held privately by family.
Hatsuye was born on September 8, 1924 to Mr. Matsuju and Mrs. Uto Gushi in Puunene, Maui. She enjoyed her work and fellow employees in sales at the Shirokiya Store in Kahului. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed dancing during Obon season, travelling to foreign countries, sewing, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Hatsuye Shima was predeceased by their beloved son, Mark: and leaves to cherish her memory, a caring husband, Brian Shima, along with many nieces, nephews, and their families.
