Manuel “Manny” Clarabal Jr., 67

March 23, 1953 – May 9, 2020

Manuel “Manny” Clarabal, Jr., 67, of Lana’i City passed away peacefully on May 9, 2020 in Kahului at Islands Hospice.

He lived on the island of Maui for many years working for Gate Gourmet formerly known as Dobbs International. Manny also took on part-time work with Budget Rent a Car and Eagles Distributors. In 2007 he went on to work for the County of Maui, Public Works department which brought him back to his birth island, Lana’i, where he worked until he retired in 2017.

Manny enjoyed diving with friends he made on Maui and also returning to Lana’i for the annual state deer hunt. He will be missed for his sense of humor and story telling over beers and pupus.

Manuel is survived by his daughter Michelle Clarabal-Ginoza (Curtis) of Lana’i City, son Damien Clarabal of Waialua, Oahu, hanai son Zion Waikiki of Pa’ia, Maui, sister Christine Costales (Randal), cousins, nephews and nieces.

Preceded in death by his parents, Manuel A. and Genoviva “Jenny” Clarabal, and his brother Marvin Clarabal.
