Fred H. Yamashige, 97, of Wailuku passed away on July 10, 2020. He was born on March 27, 1923 in Pulehu, Maui.
Fred worked at Maui Land & Pineapple Co. for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughter Emilyn (Earl) Kono; sons Eric (Iris) and Kyle (Sandra); 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by sisters Shirley (James) Tobita and Yoshiko Yoshioka.
Sergeant Fred H. Yamashige earned a Silver Star for his courage, initiative and leadership while serving with the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, D Company.
The family requests no koden and no flowers.
Nakamura Mortuary assisted the family with all arrangements.
