Lorraine Masako (Agena) Teruya, 90

Lorraine Masako (Agena) Teruya, 90, of Kula, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2020 in Kahului. Lorraine was born in Makawao, Maui on January 6, l930 to the late Kohan and Kameyo Agena.

She was the eldest of nine chidren. Lorraine moved to Honolulu a week after graduating from Maui High School. She worked at Lanikai Store and later at Foodland where she met her husband, Roy. In the late 1960’s Lorraine operated a store, Vineyard Grocery, in Honolulu while Roy worked at Times Supermarket. She also worked in the cafeteria at J.C. Penney, Pearlridge.

They raised six children on Oahu and in the late 1980’s retired to Kula, Maui. She enjoyed gardening, going out with family and friends, bon dances, and traveling with her sister, Harriet.

She is predeceased by her husband, Roy; her son, Eric; grandson, Reed Nakamura; brothers “Johnny”Hideo Agena, Noboru Agena; and sister, Shigeko Agena.

She is survived by her sons, Cyrus and Lance; daughters, Mona (Neil) Nakamura, Karen Magno, and Cheryl (Wesley) Otani; 7 grandchildren; and l great-grandchild. Lorraine is also survived by her brothers; Tadashi(Yoshiko) Agena, Shigeto(Claudia)Agena, Kazuo(Janet)Agena; Minoru (Gloria) Agena; sister, Harriet Taniguchi; sister-inlaw, Dale Agena; uncle, Kiyoshi(Ruthene) Nakanishi; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
