Beverly H. Kaya, 88
Beverly H. Kaya, 88, of Kahului, passed away on March 19, 2021. She was born in Wailuku, Maui to Hachiro and Satomi Takayama.
Beverly attended St. Anthony School, later transferring to Baldwin High School, where she graduated.
She worked as a secretary at the State of Hawaii Department of Rehabilitation until her retirement.
Beverly enjoyed watching Korean dramas and working in the yard; and she especially loved going to Las Vegas to try her luck on the crap tables.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Hideo Kaya. She is survived by her son, Brian (Carolyn) Kaya; daughter, Donna (Bryan) Shigezawa; and three grandchildren, Kristen Kaya, Taylor Shigezawa, and Jenna Shigezawa.
The family would like to thank Brenda, Tessie, and the staff of Maui Adult Care Center, MJ and the staff from Is-lands Hospice, and Dr. Daniel Garcia. Special thanks and sincere gratitude to Sally Bermudez and Dina Balberdi for their loving care and devotion, especially during Beverly’s final days.
Private services were held with the assistance of Nakamura Mortuary and Reverend Richard Tennes of Kahului Hongwanji Mission. The family respectfully requests no koden.
