Wayne S. Uemae 86, of Kihei, Maui, passed away on June 15, 2021. He was born on March 11, 1935 in Puunene, Maui.
He was an engineer for the State of Hawaii and County of Maui for more than 30 years and retired in 1992. He was the Director of Public Works for the County of Maui from 1975 to 1980 under Mayor Elmer Cravalho.
He is survived by his daughter Kelsey Hoffman, grandchildren Ashley Hoffman and Brendan Hoffman of California, brothers Ralph Uemae of Honolulu and Glen Uemae of Kahului. Mr. Uemae was preceded in death by his parents Shinroku Uemae and Doris Uemae.
