Thomas M. “Galanto” Nakagawa, 78, of Wailuku passed away peacefully on September 22, 2021.
His and Alice ashes will be scattered over the ocean off Maui.
Tom served proudly in the US Navy. He worked at Garrett Ai Research (Los Angeles, CA) and Boeing (Haleakala).
Returning to Maui, he supported the Pacific Whale Foundation; flew glider airplanes & carved unique walking canes and crosses.
Tom was predeceased by his father, Masaaki “Mohawk” Nakagawa; his sister, Joanne; his brother, Richard; and his wife, Alice. He leaves to cherish his memory mother, Misao Nakagawa, and sister, Francine (John) Paxson.
