Earl Toshio "Axle" Shimizu, of Kahului, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 29, 2022.
Earl was born on December 26, 1946. He was the second son of Manabu and Alice Shimizu (both deceased) of Kula.
Earl was a race car fanatic and often participated in the races at the Puunene Drag Strip. He loved to golf and socialize with his fellow golfers at the Maui Country Club. He also was an avid gardener and "Green Thumb" as evident of his immaculate yards.
He was a co-owner of Shimizu & Sons Construction, Inc. and M&S Trucking, Inc. until he retired in 2000.
Earl is survived by his wife Sincha and two brothers, Kenneth (Joyce) of Kahului and Ronald (Linda) of Kula. He also had numerous cousins.
A private service was head on June 13, 2022 at Nakamura Mortuary.
