Mae Kimiko Taketa, of Wailuku, passed away on August 12, 2022 at her home. She was born on September 14, 1927 in Paia.
After raising her children, she worked at Kato Dry Goods and Peggy's and Johnny's. Her hobbies included sewing and doing craft work. Most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very proud of them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Susumu Taketa, parents, Ikujiro and Kimi Sakagawa, brothers Yaichi, Shoichi (Kimie), Kazuo (Ruth), Isamu (Alice), William (Nora) and Yutaka (Hideno).
She is survived by her sister Eileen (Tatsuaki deceased) Kishinami, daughters Colleen Versola, Sheila Taketa, and Susan (Paul) Gushiken, grandchildren Jaymie (Charlton) Narayan of Nevada, Ian Fukuda of Oregon, and Chloe (Andy) Harris of Utah, great-grandchildren Cloud, Cyth, Jenna, Joanna and Casper Narayan, and Malia and Matthew Harris.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. with visitation at 4:00 p.m.
Nakamura Mortuary will be assisting the family with all arrangements.
