Rebecca Kapuna Paresa Spens-Blakley, 80

Affectionately known as “Becky” by her family and friends, she worked many years at the Renaissance Hotel in Wailea, before retiring. Becky was passionate about sewing quilts. Anyone lucky enough to receive one from her appreciated the intricate work and hours of labor that went into each blanket. Her quilt designs were each one of a kind and her work meticulous.

She is survived by 3 sons: Michael Kekoa Spens, Darin Keola Spens and Mark Kahale Spens (Melissa); 6 grandchildren: Brenna, Paityn, Adrian, Evan, Kainoa and Lucas; Siblings: Louis Paresa Jr (Bobbie), Louel Larkin (Peter), Melani Abihai (Norman), Jill Paresa-Rogoff.

Her service will be a Mass at St. Theresa’s Church in Kihei on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Private internment of her ashes will follow at a later date. Becky’s family is grateful for the support provided by Hospice Maui and nurse Shannon in particular. She was always there when needed and supported us to the end.
