Jennifer Lola Hailele Hanawahine, 77
Jennifer Lola Hailele Hanawahine was born in Waimanalo, Oahu on December 22, 1945. Jennifer was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 9, 2022 at Hospice Maui in Wailuku.
Jennifer was one of God’s fiercest warriors, dedicating much of her time to her Christian faith and to the brothers, sisters, and children who worshiped along-side her at the Faith Family Maui Church (formerly known as Rose of Sharon) in Kahului. Her spiritual dedication, commitment, and unwavering faith was truly extraordinary.
After moving to Maui in 1979 as a single mother of 3, Jennifer spent many years working at various Maui hotels as a housekeeper and at a number of different food establishments as a server and food manager (Magoos Pizza in Lahaina Square and Ray’s Deli). Jennifer later moved on to establish herself as one of the best private house-keepers on Maui, having the privilege of caring for the homes of her many clients. Her ability to clean a home or any space with the highest level of efficiency and quality was simply amazing, something all of her clients could attest to.
She was preceded by her parents George Hanawahine and Julia Keala along with 19 of her siblings. Jennifer is survived by her sister Frances “Mickey” Hanawahine; daughters Lena Hanawahine and Angela Hanawahine, and son George Hanawahine (Linelle); 9 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Respects may be given at Faith Family Maui Church on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 5:30pm-6:00pm. A Celebration of Life Service, kau kau, and fellowship will follow from 6:00pm-8:30pm. Service will be live streamed via the Faith Family Maui Church Facebook page.
