Takeji Nihei was born to Seiji &Tori Nihei of "Old Kailua" on March 1, 1930 at Paia Hospital. He was the 5th of 7 children. On January 21, 2023 he peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Grandpa worked hard and tirelessly at Maui Land & Pine Co. (Haliimaile) and retired as a mechanic after 42 years. Takeji enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball. He was always there for his family and friends. He also was mechanically inclined and enjoyed woodworking crafts. He will be deeply missed.
The family wishes to deeply express their gratitude to all the Doctors' and everyone, including family members who gave their time to care for him.
He was predeceased by his wife Frayon. He is survived by his sons Gordon (Anita) Nihei of Waipahu; Lloyd Nihei of Pukalani; grandson Gavin Nihei of Honolulu; and brother Akio Nihei of Pukalani.
Private services were held. Family requests no koden please.
