Dorothy M. Yamato, 104
Dorothy M. Yamato, of Haiku and Kihei, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2023.
She was born on July 27, 1918 and was predeceased by her husband, James S. Yamato, her daughter, Lenette, aka Lenny, (Ralph)Toma; grandchildren, Daryl (Deena) Toma and Lori Ann Nakahara of California; and brother, Shoji Yamaguchi of Hilo, HI.
She is survived by her children, Jean Ohara of Westminster, CA; Maurice T. (Remy) Morita of Honolulu; and Eloise (predeceased by Kazuo Delos Santos) Ouchi of Kihei.
She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Nakamura Mortuary. Visitation will be from 9am to 10am, followed by a service.
Burial will be on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Maui Veteran’s Cemetery at 9am.
The family wishes to thank Carmelita and Alberto Quemado and Jane for their loving care; as well as Hospice Maui.
