Jeffrey Vares was born on May 25, 1973 and passed away on March 21, 2023.
Jeffrey was born in Wailuku and raised in Kihei, Maui. Born the third of five brothers, from a young age Jeff always managed to follow his own path. His passions were his pets, Sci-Fi model kits, and military trivia.
Jeff was a paradox; innocent but opinionated, gentle and caring, yet mercurial and contrary…but always loved by his family, especially his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He will be welcomed by his angels in Heaven, his mother, Alice, his big brother, Troy, and his favorite cat, Squiggles.
Jeffrey is survived by his father, Norman and his brothers, Edward (Lisa), Shawn (Shelly) and Brendan (Kimberley), as well as his niece, Leilani and nephews, Alec and Kayden.
A private family gathering was held on Friday, March 31st at Norman's Mortuary, Wailuku. Per his wishes, Jeffrey's ashes will be scattered in the ocean at the family property, at a later date.
Many heartfelt thanks to the heroic crews of the Maui Fire Department, Maui Police Department, AMR, and Maui Memorial Medical Center's ER department for the exemplary care that they provided Jeff and our family.
