Mrs. Janet Itsuko Tomita, of Hilo, Hawaii (formerly of Kahului, Maui), passed away on March 15, 2023 in the Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
She was born in Wailuku, Maui on September 14, 1931 and retired from the State of Hawaii as an Accounting Clerk.
Visitation will be held at Iao United Church of Christ (formerly known as Iao Congregational Church) in Wailuku, Maui on Sat., June 24, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00a.m.; memorial service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Casual attire is requested. No flowers. No koden (monetary offerings).
She is survived by husband, John Tomita of Hilo; son,: Scot (Lilli-an "Honey Girl" Zimmerman) Tomita of Hilo; sister, Dorothy Komoda of Honolulu; 5 granddaughters;one great-grandson; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
