Anita Toshiko Yamafuji of Lahaina, passed away on September 18, 2023, at Hale Makua Wailuku, surrounded by family.
She was born on January 10, 1928, in Lahaina Maui, to Chujiro and Fusa Kamimoto.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Ballard Family Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m.; services start at 4:30 p.m.
Anita was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at the Pioneer Mill Hospital, Maui Memorial Hospital, Maui Medical Group and the Lahaina Kaiser Clinic.
She is predeceased by her husband, Takashi Yamafuji; son, Todd Yamafuji; and siblings, Asaye Aotaki and Kazuto Kamimoto. She is survived by daughters, Rene Yamafuji (Stanley Morris), Avis Yamafuji (Ronald C. Cox); sisters, Jane Imai of Lahaina and Jessie (Arthur) Sakai of Newark, CA. She also leaves behind 3 grandsons, James Morris (Michelle Burgin), Dean Morris and Allen (Sarah) Dunlap; and 3 great grandchildren.
