Susumu Nakasone
Susumu “Sus” Nakasone 94, passed away at Hale Makua Kahului surrounded by his loving family on October 20, 2023. He was born on October 11, 1929 to Kamasuke and Muto Nakasone from Paia. He retired from the State of Hawaii (DAGS), Army Reserve and Maui Medical Group, Wailuku. The family wishes to thank Hale Makua Kahului staff, Maui Memorial Medical Center, Hospice Maui and Pastor Ken Tanaka, Kahului Union Church.
Sus was predeceased by his wife Doris Sueko Nakasone, daughter Eunice Carroll, brothers Raymond and George Nakasone, sisters Fusako Kishaba and Patsy Higa.
He is survived by son, Howard Nakasone, daughter Pearl (Blaine) Oyama, son-in-law Don Carroll, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m.; Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Kahului Union Church, Burial 2:00 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements. The family request no flowers.
