Doug Jensen of upcountry Maui went to be with the lord on December 12, 2023.

Doug was born on September 7, 1961, at Hilo Hospital on Hawaii Island. Doug moved to Maui with his family in 1967. He attended Paia and Makawao schools and later graduated from Maui Bible Christian Academy in 1980. From there Doug attended Maui Community College for a year. He received his AA degree in welding and sheet metal as well as his AA in diesel mechanics from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. After graduating Doug was hired and worked at Maui Pineapple Co in Haliimaile for about 25 years. After leaving Maui Pine Doug worked at KT&S as a mechanic, he also owned and operated his own Matco Tool truck in Hilo. He then worked for the County of Maui Highways Division in Makawao until his retirement in 2022.

In his free time, Doug enjoyed many sports including football, golfing, baseball, basketball, and soccer which he had coached a few teams. He also enjoyed motorbike riding, go-kart racing, C.B. Radio, and was a member of the Maui Sumo club where he wrestled for a few years. He enjoyed kayaking, diving, fishing, raising bees and making honey, trap shooting, archery, riflery, and reloading. But, Dougs’ greatest love was hunting of all kinds. He loved hunting birds with his Weimaraners and loved hunting mammals with his bow and arrow, as well as rifles and black powder rifles. He also enjoyed eating and cooking all kinds of food. As well as sharing his wild game and BBQ with friends and family. Doug was also a Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and enjoyed attending church at Upcountry Calvary in Makawao.

Doug is survived by his wife of 22 years Robin Rossing Jensen, and his stepson William Kamaka. His parents Carl and Marguerite Jensen of Pukalani, his brothers Thad (Laureen) Jensen, Robert (Nicola) Jensen, Carl (Melissa) Jensen Jr., and his sister Karen (Randall) Aurello. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, many grandnieces and grandnephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Doug will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Until we see him again, may the water be malie, the fishing be good, and the hunting plentiful. A Hui Hou.
