Joanne Lou Miller

Joanne Lou Miller, 74 of Laramie, Wyoming passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 in her home in Makawao, Hawai’i. She was born and raised in Wyoming and resided on the island of Maui for the past 20 years. She passed away after battle with Lewy Body Dementia for the past three years.

She was born on May 31st, 1949 in Laramie, Wyoming the daughter of Jack Kallas and Geraldine Kallas.

Mrs. Miller attended school in Casper, Wyoming and graduated from Natrona County High School in the year of 1968.

She married Marc Miller in Casper, Wyoming in 1974 who continues to live in Makawao, Hawaii.

Survivors include her sister Barbara Kallas, her niece Andrea Glenn, her only son Jacob Miller and her husband Marc Miller.

She was proceeded in death by her parents. Cremation and a celebration of life with be at a later date.

Joanne was an avid lover of animals and grew up barrel and chariot racing with her horses. Later in life she raised and showed Newfoundland dogs and became a well respected breeder across the US. In this last year she was able to ride a horse again after 50 years and was able to take a trip back to her roots in Wyoming. Joanne celebrated 49 years of marriage to her husband Marc on October 28th. She lived a full life and gave so much love, laughter and happiness to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
