Lawrence K.C. Doong Jr.
Lawrence K.C. Doong Jr. (Larry) passed peacefully on Dec. 04, 2023 in Aiea. He was born in Wailuku on May 21, 1954. Larry graduated from St. Anthony H.S. in 1972 and the United States Naval Academy in 1976. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the Naval Academy and a Master of Science from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. Commander Doong retired from the Navy after 24 years of service and went on to accept Federal positions in Everett, WA and Pearl Harbor, HI.
Larry is survived by his wife Theresa, son Jared, and daughter Jennifer. Grandchildren Jayden, Maile, Mason and Makayla. Sisters Puanani Lindsey, Cynthia Ritter, brother Lester Doong along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and shipmates. Lawrence was pre-deceased by parents Lawrence Sr. and Marian Doong, sisters Leila Silva and Haunani Doong.
Visitation Tuesday Jan. 2, 2024 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm, service eulogy begins at 6 pm. Visitation Wednesday Jan. 3, 2024 at 8:30 am – 11:00 am at Ballard Family Mortuary. Burial at the Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao at 1:00 pm.
