Neil S. Nishida
Surrounded by family and friends, Neil transitioned on November 5, 2023 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on January 11, 1954 in Hilo, Hawaii. He is survived by his wife, Gerri, his siblings, Karen, Craig (Diane), Beverly (Jeffrey), his in-laws, nephews, nieces and a host of long-time friends.
Neil was a Mechanical Engineer. He had also worked in various positions from 1976- 2002 at United Airlines, in Hilo, Kahului and Honolulu. He loved the ocean, diving, surfing, swimming, tennis, golfing, running, hiking, skiing, playing his guitar and traveling.
Neil brought so much joy, laughter and sense of community to everyone! He had a way of making those around him feel comfortable and important. He touched all of us. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 9, 2024 on the Big Island at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel Moku Ola 1 Ballroom and breezeway at 11 a.m.
