Charmaine Pualani Washington

Charmaine was born on March 16, 1953 near Puunene, HI. She was survived by husband, Carl Washington, and children Kealii Washington of Spokane, WA with wife Amanda and 4 children {Marley, Juliet Jaxson Carl, Maddox}, and Charmaine’s daughter, Hokulani Washington of Pukalani, HI with her 3 children {Zhiden James, Zivena-Grace, Zaviha-Jo}.

Charmaine's siblings were Lorna-Mae (Noni) Nishihara, Rhoda-Ann Shimabuku, Samuel (Kammy) Kaiwi Jr, Wendy Curtis Kaiwi [deceased] . The beloved daughter of deceased Samuel Francis Kaiwi & Smiley Kualo Kaiwi.

After completing her education, Charmaine answered the call to duty and proudly served her country as a member of the Army in 1973 and honorably discharged in 1976.

In 1981 she began serving at First Assembly of God Maui [King’s Maui] by volunteering in the Children’s + Bus Ministry until she eventually became part of the maintenance staff. Cleaning and working diligently in the house of God, Charmaine eventually became a beloved preschool teacher.

Charmaine's legacy + passion will forever be remembered through her unseen selfless acts of kindness, her unwavering love for her family, and her dedication to serving others. She leaves behind a trail of beautiful and joyous memories.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Ballard Mortuary; service will begin at 12 noon; cremation will follow.

Family requests white + denim attire.
