Carol Mae Mau
Carol Mae (Moniz) Mau, affectionately known by family as “Mama Carol” age 74, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023 at Hospice Maui. She was born on December 9, 1948 in Puunene, Maui to Fusae Shiraki (Moniz) and Stanley Moniz. Carol graduated from H.P. Baldwin High School, attended Maui Community College, and retired from the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa as a PBX operator in Lahaina after many years of service.
Carol is survived by sons, Scott (Deceased) and Preston Mau; daughter, Aimee Swaney (Mau); Son in law Douglas Swaney; and grandchildren Autumn Helie, Elijah Helie, Ian Swaney and Caleb Swaney along with numerous family and friends. Celebration of Life will be on Friday, May 3rd, 5:00 PM family, 6:00 PM public, 7:00 PM service followed by light dinner and refreshments at Ballard Family Mortuary, 440 Ala Makani St, Kahului, HI 96732. Aloha attire is suggested and flowers can be sent on the day of to Ballard Family Mortuary.
