Meredith Whittier Moon, 89, of Makawao, lived an amazing life but departed it on Wednesday, April 3rd, at home with her loving husband and life partner Bruce Glen by her side. “When you find me dead, love me; see me in the light, that is where I am.”
Meredith was born on May 24, 1934, to Sibyl Peaslee Hall Moon and Admiral Don Pardee Moon in Boston Massachusetts, and was the oldest of 4 children. Because her father was in the Navy, she traveled much as a child but spent most of her childhood in Annapolis, Md. She lost her father during WWII in the Italian Theater. She graduated from RPI (now VCU), in 1955, in Richmond Virginia, as an occupational therapist. She married and raised 3 children before leaving Virginia to spread her wings. She achieved many amazing things, including finishing her Masters and PhD in Psychology with an emphasis in Jungian Therapy, growing a psychology practice in Makawao with her partner Bruce, and working with so many caring people on her adopted island home. Meredith was an author and shared her knowledge of dreams and interpretation of dreams with many. Meredith and Bruce married in 2018 but were together for 45 years. They were, like swans, mated for life.
Meredith is survived by her loving partner Bruce Leon Glen; her children, Cameron Clay Stiles (Alex), Lisa Stiles Licata, and George Edward Robertson Stiles II (Sharon); her step daughter Christina Vion Glen; her brothers Donald Pardee Moon, David Moon, and Peter Clayton Moon; and her beloved grand children that brought her so much joy, Meredith McKenzie Licata Reyna (Alex), Robertson Whittier Licata, George Edward Robertson Stiles III, and Ethan James Sutton Stiles.
The family would like to thank Meredith's amazing caregivers, Marion and Sini, who helped her to the end, and Hospice Maui that helped ease her transition.
