Michael Wilfred Keali'ipa'ahana Vierra

September 11, 1940 – April, 3 2024

Michael W. K. Vierra, 83 of Lahaina, son of Wilfred and Emma Vierra, passed away on April 3, 2024 at Hospice Maui. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Leola Vierra. Son Michael “Mikey” Vierra Jr. (deceased); son Michael “Mika” Vierra III; daughter Leslie Vierra; daughter-in-law Jessica (Baer) Vierra. Brothers: Leonard Vierra (deceased); Anthony “Akoni” Vierra. Sisters: Juliana Hill (deceased); Sandra Vierra. Grandchildren: Kayden Vierra; Kaena Vierra; and Cruze Vierra.

Michael graduated from Lahainaluna as part of the Class of 1959, the last graduating class of the Territory of Hawaii. He honorably served his Country in the Army National Guard for 9 years. Michael was employed at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course as a supervisor in guest services from 1963 – 2003. Michael was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served for 40 years with the BSA (Troop 79) as a leader and Scout Master. Michael and his wife Leola were the owners of Leola of Hawaii Inc; retail stores on Front Street in Lahaina. Unfortunately, their stores, along with their family home, were lost in the August, 8th 2023 Lahaina wildfires.

Michael's memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Maui Lani Stake Center on Saturday, April, 27th. The visitation will be held from 9AM – 10:30AM, followed by the church service from 11AM – 12PM. The burial service will be held on Monday, April 29th at the Maui Memorial Park at 2PM.
