Evelyn Kishi
Evelyn Murakami Kishi of Kahului, formerly of Lahaina and originally from Honolulu, passed away in Kahului on June 16, 2024. She was 89 years old. Evelyn was a retired teacher who spent most of her career teaching at King Kamehameha Ill School in Lahaina.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Haruo; son, Kyle; and three brothers, Harold, Stanley, and Donald. She leaves behind her son, Glenn; daughter, Wendy; granddaughters, Kylie and Aimee; sister, Judith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Much love and appreciation to Rose, Chris, and Virgie Ulep at Residential Care of Maui, along with Sharon and Camille, for taking such wonderful care of our mom and grandma over the past 19 months. Thank you also to Hospice Maui for your support and kindness. Special thanks to our family and friends who visited our mom over the years – she enjoyed spending time and laughing with all of you.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Kahului Jodo Mission. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., with a service at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be served at the church following the service. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park. The family requests no flowers or koden.
