Catalina Gonzales Evangelista

Catalina Gonzales Evangelista, 99, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away on July 19, 2024 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on August 18, 1924, in San Antonio, Zambales, Philippines to Martin and Margarita Gonzales.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Ballard’s Mortuary. The service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Wailuku. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at Maui Memorial Park.

Catalina worked as a trimmer at Maui Land & Pineapple Company. She also loved to cook her kankanen especially her suman, tupig and cascaron. She is predeceased by her husband Elias Acang Evangelista, her daughter Lolita Evangelista, her son Rogelio (Nenita) Evangelista, and her daughter Gloria (Ferdinand) Cajigal.

She is survived by her daughter Estrelita (Jose) Lampitoc and her son Alfredo (Basilia) Evangelista. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren Edward (Sannah) Evangelista, Jeremy (Kaulana) Cajigal, Karissa Cajigal, Lareina Parilla, Justin (Mila) Lampitoc, Lydia (Delbert) Torres, Joseph Rey Lampitoc, Christian (Carolyn) Evangelista, Danielle Evangelista, Brandon Cacayorin, Bradley Cacayorin, and Brittany Cacayorin. She is also survived by her thirteen great-grandchildren Haile Evangelista, Ethan Evangelista, Rylan Cajigal-Evans, Piercen Cajigal-Evans, Chevy Lane Evans, Aria Faith Palau, Levi Parilla, Aiden Lampitoc, Avee Lampitoc, Isaiah Torres, Ava Torres, Cora Evangelista, Lucas Cacayorin; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
