Elizabeth Claire Anderson Chenoweth

My beloved mother, Elizabeth Claire Anderson Chenoweth, born in California on January 23, 1934, passed away on July 22, 2024 in Wailuku, Maui. She has left behind myself, her son, David Chenoweth , Jr, her grandchildren Melia Lani, Kehau, and Kapono, and four great grandsons. Her husband, my father, David Chenoweth and their son, my brother, Richard Chenoweth, preceded her in death.

Elizabeth was an anointed soprano and loved to sing with her church choir. A lifelong Episcopalian, she was a committed member of Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church in Lahaina for over 50 years. She greatly encouraged and influenced me in my music endeavors.

She was married to David Chenoweth, for well over 50 years. He was "the boy next door" whom she met when she was four years old. They were active, influential, committed and kind members of the Lahaina community. I will miss her greatly.

I wish to express my gratitude to Wailuku Hale Makua and its Care Home for their long term committed loving care of my mother, and also to Hospice Maui for their help in her last days.

Elizabeth's funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Wailuku, on Friday, September 27 at 12 noon, refreshments and memories to be shared in the parish hall thereafter. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Holy Innocents Church, c/o the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii, 229 Queen Emma Square, Honolulu, HI 96813 or the Maui Humane Society.

Starting at /week.
