Peter W. Meagher
Peter W. Meagher, long time Maui resident, died September 11, 2024. He lived most of his life in Hawaii. Peter was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, his community, and his work.
Peter loved sports, especially football, playing at a collegiate level. He served his country with honor in both the Army and the Coast Guard and utilized the GI bill to pay for his education, graduating from NYU in 1959.
He moved to Maui in 1973 where he had a successful career as a realtor and real estate developer. Peter’s leadership and expertise were recognized when he served as a leader in the Maui and Hawaii Board of Realtors and co-founder of the Makawao Community Association. Additionally, he was always generous with his time, volunteering at the Food Bank, Catholic Outreach, and assisting feeding the homeless.
Peter was predeceased by his first wife in 1973 and his second in 2019. He is survived by his two children, Peter W. Meagher III and Mele Climaldi, and his two grandchildren, Amber Meagher and Peter W. Meagher IV.
