Patrick Nitta
								Patrick Y.P. Nitta of Wailuku, Maui, formerly from Honolulu, passed away on June 11, 2024.
Patrick grew up in Waipahu and Aiea and graduated from Mid-Pacific Institute in 1962 and UH Mānoa in 1966. Patrick served with the Air Force in Viet Nam as a first lieutenant. He received a Bronze Star during his time as a Chief Controller.
After his return to Oahu, Patrick married Iris Fujie, from Hilo. In 1978, he and his young family moved to Maui where they made it their home for 46 years. During his time on Maui Patrick was involved with the Maui Jaycees, the Maui Chamber of Commerce, Kihei-Wailea Rotary Club, and the Kahului Jodo Mission.
Patrick is pre-deceased by his parents, Francis and Alice Nitta, and his brother, Gregory Nitta. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Iris Nitta (Fujie), and daughters, Trisha Jane (Mark) Roy and Jodie (Bradley) Shinagawa. He is also missed dearly by his grandchildren, Emma Jane, Nikko, Taylor, Brandi, and Joseph.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 9th, at the Kahului Jodo Mission. Visitation begins at 10:00am; Service at 11:00am followed by refreshments
