Julia Libby

July 9, 1945 – November 2, 2024

It is with a peaceful heart that I share with you that Julia obtained her angel wings on November 2nd at Leahi Hospital with her son by her side.

The daughter of Yonekichi and Take Sato, the youngest of seven siblings.

She obtained her 3 year Nursing Diploma from UH. Worked at Queen's Hospital for several years, then moved to New York to continue working as a nurse. In the 1970's moved back to Maui and worked at Kula Hospital, where she then retired after 40 years of service as a Nurse Manager on the 3rd floor.

She loved painting, cooking, reading and being around her family and friends.

We would like to Thank the nursing staff at Leahi Hospital for providing great and compassionate care.

Julia is predeceased by: parents – Yonekichi & Take Sato, brothers – Richard & Herbert Sato, sister – Ester Larson. Survived by: son Joey (Midori) Sato, daughter Lisa Sato, granddaughter Maia Sato, brothers – James & Stanley Sato, sister – Pasty Ota, and many nieces and nephews.

Come and join in the Celebration of Julia's life on December 21st , at Nakamura's Mortuary from 9am-11am.
