Lillian Asako Chun

Lillian Asako Chun of Kahului, Maui, passed away on October 23, 2024, at Hale Makua, under the care of Hospice Maui. She was born on February 22, 1937, in Puunene.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Kahului Union Church; visitation at 9 a.m.; service to start at 10:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Punchbowl Cemetery on Oahu.

Lillian was a retired elementary school teacher at Wailuku Elementary School. She enjoyed baking, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren. At KUC, Lillian enjoyed the family choir, exercise classes, and baking her yummy treats for the preschool and Sunday morning refreshments. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Herman Chun; her parents, Wayne & Irene Uchimura; and siblings, Dorothy Makimoto, Nancy Kam, Paul Uchimura and Thelma Ebisu. She is survived by her children, Grant (Joyce) Chun, Geary (Eileen) Chun, Geri (Jon) Kimoto; three siblings, Walter Uchimura, Irene Cambra, and Susan Asai; and seven grandchildren, Alex (Erin) Chun, Katherine Chun, Julia Kimoto, Matthew Chun, Camille Kimoto, Lindsey Kimoto and Mari Chun; and numerous nieces and nephews.
