Janet Umemura
Janet Satsuko Umemura, 91, of Wailuku, Maui passed away on December 9, 2024 under the care of Islands Hospice. She was born on November 12th 1933 to Yutaka Kawakami and Masako Saiki.
She is survived by her daughter Joy Umemura; sister Ruth Fukushima; brother Ray Kawakami and plus numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Mitsuo Umemura.
Mrs. Umemura was a very happy, kind and generous woman who loved to crochet, and was a member of Faith in Jesus Church. Being born and raised in Wailuku, Maui she attended Wailuku Elementary, Iao Intermediate, and graduated from H.P. Baldwin High School. She continued on her education at Maui Nursing Tech, where she received her HMSA Award. She retired from HMSA, doing medical pricing.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Faith In Jesus Church on Thursday January 16th 2025. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:30 am with service at 10:30 am and lunch to follow. Inurnment will be at 2:00 pm at Maui Memorial Park.
