Waylon Kalehuamakanoe Kauai, 43, of Ulupalakua passed away on January 21, 2025. He was born on July 6, 1981.
Waylon is survived by his Mother; Cheryllee (Alden) Fukumitsu, His Papa; Merton (Jan) Kekiwi Sr., Uncle Rick (Bambi) Kekiwi, Aunty Terri Kauai, Aunty Katie Cooper along with Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & Friends.
He is predeceased by his Grandma Faith Ku'ulei Kekiwi, Papa Andrew Kauai Sr., Uncle Andrew Kauai Jr., Uncle Ronnie Kauai and Aunty Doreen Kekiwi.
Waylon was an avid hunter, he lived for the mountains. He had a deep passion for the outdoors & a passion to teach others to hunt as well. He would always share with others the wisdom he gained from his lifetime of experiences hunting in the mountains and working on the ranch, all that was passed down to him from his elders.
"Remember the smiles and not the tears, for all my hunts throughout these years. Don't dwell on things that was left unsaid, cherish the moments we shared instead....When you're thinking of me I hope a smile comes to your face, just know I'm still hunting but in a better place..."
A Celebration of Life over Urn will be held at Kula Community Center on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Visitation will start at 9am with Service at 11am, Lunch to follow at 12 noon.
