Dr. Fiona Jean Leigh

Dr. Fiona J. Leigh (1942-2023) passed away peacefully at the age of 81. She was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1942 and graduated from the University of Sydney Medical School with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1966.

A trailblazer in her era, Dr. Leigh pursued her passion for medicine, becoming a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Her worldwide travels, including working at the Maudsley Hospital in London and pursuing advanced psychiatry studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), eventually led her to call Malibu, California, and Maui (Paia), Hawai’i, her home.

Known for her intellect, independent spirit, and sharp wit – she defied societal expectations and left a lasting impact on all whose lives she touched.

Dr. Leigh was a proud mother to three daughters, Rovianne, Cambria, and Catia, and a grandmother (tutu) to Ada, Canyon, and Luna. She cherished their accomplishments with deep pride. In her leisure, Dr. Leigh found joy in the company of her horses–TJ, Asia, Comet, Eclipse, Brando, Nirvana, and Holokai.
