Kahanumeaola Rabang
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Kahanumeaola Kalawakaeaokanai Rabang, age 10, of Hana, Maui and Hilo, Hawaii, who passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Kapiolani Children’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
Kahanu was born on September 3, 2014 in San Diego, California. He was the true definition of a warrior, bravely facing cancer head-on with resilience, courage, and perseverance as he fought till the very end.
A celebration of Kahanu’s life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Haou family home in Hana (46970 Hana Highway, Hana, HI 96713).
Visitation begins at 9:00 AM, with a service to follow from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A final viewing will conclude at 1:30 PM, with a reception to follow.
Kahanu is survived by his parents: Justin Rabang of Hilo, Uilani (Patrick) Kaina of Hana; brothers: Justin Rabang Jr., Kaanoiokauakeakilikaaikawaokele Kaina and Kaiikekaheokawaipunaikahoinanaikeola Kaina; sisters: Keani Rabang, Kailai Rabang, Kaelekapahilihuliliokanahelemaukele Kaina, and Alize Rabang. He is also survived by his grandparents: Michael (Deborah) Rabang of Hilo and Kenneth (Janelle Baoy) Davis of Hana; great-grandmother: Linda Baoy of Kahului; and many beloved cousins, aunties, uncles, and extended ohana.
