Kathleen Figueira

Kathleen Joyce Figueira, 73, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunty, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Makawao.
Born in Pu'unene and raised in Kokomo and Makawao, Kathleen was rooted deeply in the Maui community she loved so dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Violet Figueira, and her brother, Guy Figueira.
She is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her brothers, Greg (Manu) Figueira and Miles Figueira; her sister, Gay (Mike) Peavy; her children, Kama (Amber) Cook and Alana (Zach) Scott; and her grandchildren, Josiah Cook, Kalei, Ka'ena, and Lina Scott.
To all who knew her–whether as Kathleen, Kat, or Grandma Honey–she was a shining light. Her vibrant spirit, strong will, boundless love, and joyful presence brought warmth and laughter wherever she went. Grounded in her quiet but steady faith, she lived with compassion, strength, and gratitude. Her beautiful smile and inner light will continue to bless those she touched.
A Mass in her honor will be held on May 19th at St. Joseph Church in Makawao. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m., with Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will take place immediately after at Makawao Cemetery, followed by a celebration of life at Alana’s home.
