EUPREPES CASING PELLAZAR

Euprepes Pellazar, 95 years old, affectionately known as “Bill” and with his family as Manoy, Preshong or Uncle Billy, passed away peacefully at Hale Makua in Kahului on February 19, 2025. He was the eldest child born in Pu’unene, Maui on November 30, 1929 to the late Donato and Primitiva (Casing) Fillazar and grew up in Camp Six and Alabama Village on the Pu’unene Plantation.

He attended Pu’unene School and is an Army veteran having served in the Korean War. Retired from the Paia Sugar Mill after 45 years of service as a Utility Truck Driver, he enjoyed fishing whenever he could, sharing his catches with family and neighbors. Like his father and brothers, he had a musical talent playing the guitar with various groups. In his younger years, he also played for the local Fil-Am baseball team in Pu’unene (photo).

He is survived by his children and grandchildren: Son William Jerome (+Mary Ann) of Paia and their son Elijah (Jenni Kinoshita) of Kahului and their children Aubree and Noah; daughter Chastity (Zenas) Romero of Paia and their daughter, Mikaila. Euprepes is also survived by his daughter Angela (Phil) Benoit of Makawao and their children Max of Seattle and Kendall of Makawao.

He is also survived by his brothers Faustino “Foxy” Pellazar (+Betsy) and Boni (Janice Recamara) Fillazar and Art Fillazar, as well as sisters-in-law Cheri Pellazar and Gloria (Don) Manzano of Kihei, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy “Neneng” (Cagasan) Pellazar; his daughter-in-law Mary Ann (Porte) Pellazar; his parents Donato and Primitiva “Eva” Fillazar; sisters JoAnn (Pellazar) Barona (+Rudy) and Amy (Fillazar) Parilla (+Jesus, Sr.) ; and brothers Claude “Cloud” Pellazar, Acacio Edward “Dodong” Pellazar, Nathan “Nod” Pellazar, Sr. (+Nellie), and Marcelino “Rocky” Fillazar; and parents-in-law Laureano and Damasa Cagasan.

Service over urn will be on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Paia. Family viewing will be at 9:30 am followed by public visitation from 10:00 am. Eulogies will be presented at 10:30 am, followed by the Mass at 11:00 am. Inurnment will take place at 9:00 am at Makawao Veterans Cemetery in Makawao on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 for both Bill and Dorothy. Family requests no floral wreaths on stands.
