Robert Wayne Rodrigues

Robert Wayne Rodrigues of Upcountry Maui passed away peacefully at Maui Memorial Medical Center on July 7, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on March 11, 1950, at Maui Memorial Medical Center, Robert was a beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was the son of the late Theodore and Gertrude Rodrigues, and was one of eight siblings: Ted Rodrigues, Tracy Rodrigues, Nelson Rodrigues, Lydia Sheets, Darlene Freitas, Alice Rodrigues, and the late Dolly Rodrigues.
Robert is survived by his children: Lisa Brooks, Cheryl Fernandez, Wayne Rodrigues, and Robert Rodrigues Morgan. His grandchildren: Maile Kaiwi, Ha’aheo Kaiwi, Adylenee, Timothy, Edwin, Nethain, Juanita, Levi, Landen, ad Jude Rodrigues. And his only great-grandchild, Lucas H. Rodrigues. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who were touched by his warmth, humor, and generous spirit.
A skilled mechanic, Robert dedicated much of his career to Wailuku Agriculture, where his work ethic and craftsmanship were well known and respected. Outside of work, he was rarely seen without his ukulele in hand, playing kanikapila style and always ready for a good time. Whether he was cruising on a holoholo or fishing with a Bud Light by his side, Robert lived his life with joy, music, and connection to the land and people around him.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Ballard Family Mortuary, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Family is requesting everyone to wear aloha attire or blue attire. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the memory of a man who brought laughter, love, and music wherever he went.
He will be missed dearly and remembered always.
