Keaka Kaulia-Neula

Keakaokalaalohi “Aka” Kawaipiikalani Kaulia-Neula passed away on June 20th in Queens Medical Center. Aka was born on October 1, 1987 on Oahu where he was reared as a child. He attended Hawaiian language immersion schools including Punana Leo o Honolulu and Ke Kula Kaiapuni o Waiau and Anuenue. In 2003, the family relocated to Maui, where Aka spent much of his teenage and adult life. Over the last several years, Aka lived on Oahu and Maui. He is survived by one keiki, Kahalepiliokealoha Deponte-Kaulia, his makua hanai: Dwayne Kuualohanui Kaulia; three older sisters: Ebony L., Jolina K., and Honesty K. Kaulia; two older brothers: Kele K. and Kealii K. Neula; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Family and friends will be gathering on Saturday, August 23rd at Kalama Beach Pavillion in Kihei from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. A memorial service will be conducted in his memory, followed by the scattering of Keakas ashes and a luncheon.
