Nancy Schleining

Nancy Camille Halford Schleining
May 21, 1981 – August 10, 2025
Nancy Camille Halford Schleining passed away peacefully at her home in Kula on August 10, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on May 21, 1981, Nancy was a proud graduate of Seabury Hall and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Colorado State University.
A lifelong animal lover and accomplished equestrian, Nancy’s adventurous spirit and radiant joy left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Whether riding horses through Haleakala Crater with her grandfather, spending sunlit days at the beach, or playing games (where she somehow always drew the best cards), Nancy brought laughter, warmth, and light to every moment.
A descendant of the Judd pioneering Hawai’i family, Nancy was an Upcountry girl through and through. Her happiest days were spent on horseback, immersed in nature and surrounded by those she loved. Her kindness, infectious laughter, and unwavering friendship continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her mother, Camille DuBois Lyons; her father, Nicholas Halford; her brother, Erik Barnard; and her children, Emma and Duke Schleining. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins and dear friends who cherished her deeply.
In honor of Nancy’s generous spirit and enduring love for her community, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice Maui and/or the Makawao Cemetery Association, in lieu of flowers.
