Dana Acosta
Dana Lynne Acosta, of Kahului, Maui passed peacefully on June 26, 2025 under the care of Hospice Maui surrounded by her family.
Dana was born on November 14, 1958 in Burbank, CA, and moved to Maui at the age of 15. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother.
Dana dedicated 39 years of her life to serving the Maui community through the County of Maui, Kaunoa Senior Services, where she worked as a Retired Senior Volunteer Program Specialist. Dana found joy in raising butterflies- finding peace and wonder in watching them transform. Dana will be remembered for her radiant smile, gentle heart, sweet tooth, infectious laugh, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Dana is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rizal Acosta; children: Jonathan (Heidi) Acosta, Becky Ferguson; Grandchildren: Lilyana and Kaylia Ferguson, Gavin, Ehren, Micah and Nixon Acosta; great-grandson: Titus-James Nishioka; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joan and George Delaney Chalk, Jr.; son-in-law, Rusty Ferguson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Oskie Rice Arena Clubhouse, 523 Olinda Road, Makawao, HI.
