Loren L. Holmberg, 83, passed away on August 31st, 2025. Born September 25th, 1941, in Seattle, Washington to Lyle and Loraine Holmberg, he grew up with a love for horses and the outdoors and a passion for art and craftsmanship. A graduate of Edmonds High School, he went on to earn degrees from Western Washington University and Washington State University which led him into careers in teaching, construction, and entrepreneurship.
During his 32 years on Maui, Loren worked in construction, building homes from Kihei to Waiehu, and pursued his career as an artist selling his wildlife sculpture and woodwork at hotels and galleries across the island. He was a proud member of Lodge Maui where he attained the rank of Master Mason, was active in the Scottish Rite, achieving the 33rd degree, and involved as a Shriner and Eastern Star.
