Haruo Nakagawa
Haruo Nakagawa, 95, passed away on September 12, 2025 in Kahului, Maui. He was born on April 3, 1930 in Honolua, Maui to Shiroku and Masao Komorida Nakagawa.
Haruo graduated from Lahainaluna High School. He was employed by Maui Land and Pine before moving to Molokai to work for the County of Maui Public Works Department. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. After his retirement, he returned to Maui. He would walk to the Lahaina Harbor and visit with the fishing boats and crew. Whenever he was given fish he liked to make poke to share with his friends. The funny thing is he never acquired the taste of eating raw fish. He also enjoyed celebrating his birthday in Las Vegas.
