Damien Francis Pires, Sr.
Damien Francis Pires Sr., 85 of Kula, Maui, passed away on January 12, 2026 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on March 20, 1940 in Wailuku.
A retired Supervisor at Hawaiian Cement, Damien was a master of many trades: an articulate welder, heavy equipment mechanic, and rock crusher operator. His work ethic was a hallmark that epitomized his diligence and dedication. Beyond his professional life, he was a devoted member of the Kula Holy Ghost Church. He was predeceased by his daughter, Valerie Adams. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine Pires; son, Damien F. Pires Jr. (Sharis); daughter, Laurie Keali’inohomoku (Robert); a sister, Dolorine Pires; 5 grandchildren, Kanoelani, Tyler, Tatiana, Lopaka-Titus, Jordan; and 1 great granddaughter, Areli-Grace.
Services will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Holy Ghost Church, 4300 Lower Kula Road, with visitation from 9:30am-10:30am; eulogy will begin at 10:30am and mass will begin at 11am; and burial will follow at 1pm.
