David Nishimura
David Nishimura passed away on September 18th, 2025. He was immediately in the presence of his Lord Jesus, whom he had loved since he came to know him as his Savior as a young man. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carolyn Lavern Hanson in June 2008. David is survived by his one daughter, Leah Nishimura Nance (Husband Matthew and two grandchildren Cajah and Saraya) of Reidsville, NC. He also has two brothers, Ernie Nishimura, Norman Nishimura and their families.
He is also survived by his wife, Ellora Armstrong Nishimura and her family. David was born in Lahaina on February 14, 1947. David lived in Lahaina all his life and was a graduate of Lahainaluna High School Class of 1965. He attended the community college for two years and studied Auto Mechanics. His occupation was Building Maintenance for Kaanapali Beach Hotel until retirement. David was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church.
David enjoyed cooking, fishing, being out on his boat, spending time with friends, sharing about Jesus with others, and he especially enjoyed a good meal. In October 2013 David married Ellora Armstrong, a long-time friend who lived in Schroon Lake NY. They made their home in Lahaina until October 2023. They moved to Sebring, Fl. due to health reasons and remained there with family until his passing. David will be missed by friends and family, and we will remember him with a smile when we think of him.
A memorial service in honor of his life will be held at Lahaina Baptist Church, 520 Waine'e St. Lahaina, Hawaii 96761 on March 27th at 6 pm.
