Manuela Limos

Manuela “Elang” Limos, 96, of Pukalani, Maui, passed away peacefully at her home on March 13, 2026.

Born on December 25, 1929, in Oaig-Daya, Candon City, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she moved to Hawaiʻi in 1966. Elang worked on Molokaʻi at Dole Plantation, Sheraton Hotel, and Molokaʻi High School, and later on Maui at HC&S Sugar Plantation and various nurseries, retiring from Howard’s Nursery.

A kind and caring woman, Elang was known for her love of gardening, cooking, and baking. She had a remarkable green thumb and lived a healthy, simple life, enjoying the fruits of her labor well into her 90s.

She is survived by her son, Elbert Limos, and many relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufino and Josefa Limos.

Services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Norman’s Mortuary, with visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and service at 7:00 p.m. Services will continue Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Church in Makawao, with visitation from 8:00-10:30 a.m., Mass at 10:30 a.m., and burial to follow.
