Arthur C. Ferreira, Jr.
Arthur (Art) C. Ferreira, Jr., 83, passed away on May 7, 2026 after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born in 1942 to Arthur and Thelma Ferreira in Wailuku, Maui, in the Territory of Hawaii, where he attended St. Anthony School before studying physics at the University of San Francisco and operations research at the University of California, Berkeley.
After serving as Project Officer and Commander in the US Army, Art began his successful career in Michigan as an Operations Research Analyst at Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 25 years. By 1990, he managed the corporate operations of Ford's financial subsidiary in San Francisco, USL Capital, through its acquisitions by Mellon Bank and GE Capital, until he retired as Vice President of Information Systems in 2002.
Art is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Patricia E. Ferreira, his 2 sisters Jacqueline Davis and Doreen (Wilfred) Jones, and his 4 children Mark (Susan), Christine, Alan (Wendy), and Kathryn. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren: Angela, Nicholas, Ayden, Olivia, and Ashton, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
The funeral mass will take place at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church on June 18th at 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arthur and Patricia Ferreira’s honor to the Youth Ministry or St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church, 2825 W. Rose Canyon Circle, Anthem, AZ 85086.
