Moses “Moke” Haleula Kahiamoe Sr.

Moses “Moke” Haleula Kahiamoe Sr., 88 of Huelo, Maui passed away on May 05, 2026, at his residences surrounded by his loving ohana and under the care of Hospice Maui. He was born on October 26, 1937, to John and Dolly Kahiamoe of Huelo, Maui.

Moke Sr., served 2 years in the National Guard, did window cleaning, drove truck for Yamamura Pineapple Co., 11+ years with Fong Construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator, started Moke's Tropical Connection and later worked at Harley Davidson and went to do work at Johnston Island for Nakoa Company Inc. Beyond his work he took great pride in maintaining and caring for his property in Huelo Valley.

Moke's life was a true blessing to his family and to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His strength, generous heart, and deeply rooted Aloha spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He devoted his life to the people he loved, always leading with kindness, humility, and strength. He will dearly be missed, his love, wisdom, and countless memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of the many lives he touched.

Viewing for Moke Kahiamoe, Sr. will be held on Friday, May 29th , 2026 at Ballard Family Mortuary from 5:00pm to 9:00pm; with a time for family and friends to share memories and celebrate his life.

Funeral Services will continue on Saturday, May 30th, 2026, at Ballard Family Mortuary from 9:00am to 10:15am; followed by prayer service starting at 10:45am. Moke Kahiamoe Sr., will then be laid to rest at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haiku, where the burial service will begin at 2:00pm.

Moke is survived by his wife, Nanette P. Kahiamoe; children, Moses Kahiamoe Jr. (Desiree); Daniel Kahiamoe (Rosie); Davelyn Tau-a, Guy Tau-a (Jody), Murphy Tau-a (Jodee), Kimberly Niles (Mike). Moke has 18 grandkids and 28 great grandkids.
